The Mindful Birth® Hypnobirthing Course

Hypnobirthing is a proven & widely used set of techniques that help a woman give birth in the most relaxed way. Breathing, visualisation and positive reinforcement are the foundations of the various techniques that are taught.

Mindful Birth courses

bring the concept of birth hypnobirthing and mindfulness together to prepare parents by focusing on the mind-body connection, helping them to focus on what is in their control and let go of what is out of their control.

This concept can apply to every single birthing scenario, from home water birth to planned or unplanned abdominal birth and everything in between. Parents who take Mindful Birth course feel prepared to meet their baby and go on to begin parenthood feeling good about the choices they made in preparation for and during birth.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

'Sammy's class was amazing. Both my husband and I really benefited from it. I got the birth I wanted (total opposite to my first birth) and I honestly don't think I would have had the confidence to stick so strong to my plan and achieve the birth I wanted if we hadn't have had your class'

Who can join a course?

The Mindful Birth® hypnobirthing courses are designed for any type of birth, whether you are looking for a drug free birth, planned epidural birth or a planned abdominal birth and can be flexible to your individual circumstances. They are suitable whether you are a first, second, third or fourth time parent. It is entirely up to you whether you attend the course on your own or with a birth partner. You have the option of booking onto a group course or private (face to face or zoom). To find out more and talk about what might be the best option for you please get in touch.

When is the best time to start a course?

Practise, practise, practise is key and therefore I would recommend starting the course from around 20 weeks. This will give you plenty of time to listen to the audio's on a regular basis in the lead up to your baby's birth. However, it really is never to late to do the course and I would still recommend doing the course if you are nearing your due date and have only just considered doing hypnobirthing.

Can you still do a course if you are planning an abdominal (cesarean) birth?

Absolutely! Hypnobirthing and mindfulness techniques are transferable to any birthing scenario. If you know you are having a planned abdominal birth, it is just as important to learn these techniques as it is for a planned physiological birth. The course helps you to gain an understanding in your birth preferences and choices so that you can produce the all important hormones after birth too to enable a positive experience is . Therefore, I offer private 1-1 courses for planned abdominal births too! Please get in touch if you would like to know more about the abdominal birth course.
